Council Regulations for Garden Sheds

Every council or building authority in Australia has its own rules and regulations when it comes to SHEDS whether it is Garden Sheds, Storage Sheds, Garages or Barns so it is always wise to check before you make a purchase.

Most council’s allow a garden shed up to 10 sq metres to be erected without a permit.

The most common shed size to fit this requirement is a 3m x 3m shed (9 square metres), but you can go bigger thanks to some clever thinking by the people at Durabuilt who make the EasySHED range.

Imagine having a bigger shed say 4.3m x 2.25m (9.6 square metres), this is possible using the EasySHED Truss Shed model 0404E 4.5m x 2.25m and making some simple adjustments.

All you need to do is cut (using a hacksaw or angle grinder), 235mm from the channels on the 4.5m side (4 wall channels and 4 roof channels and 235mm from the roof ridge beam), then overlap 1 rib in the front and back walls and the 2 roof panels and there you have it. A much bigger shed without the need for permit fees

This shed has the added strength of a truss frame and overlapping these wall panels will also add strength. Even better for the taller person you can chose to increase the wall height of this shed from 1.8m to 1.98m or even 2.10m for just a little extra!

Garden Shed Installation System

The ABSCO SNAP-TiTE system is revolutionary because it dramatically reduces the number of fasteners needed to assembly a garden shed.

Many average size garden sheds require over 600 screws, nuts, bolts, and rivets to be fitted, whilst with some others, holes must be drilled during assembly.

Compare that with the innovative SNAP-TiTE system, which makes DIY construction very easy, because it uses only 200 fasteners to assemble an average size garden shed!

STRONGER, THANKS TO THE SNAPTITE SYSTEM

Not only does the SNAP-TiTE system make assembly easier and faster, the end result is also significantly stronger.

ABSCO has put the SNAP-TiTE system to the test too, demonstrating superior strength in laboratory tests carried out to international ISO standards. That’s because the revolutionary SNAP-TiTE system features significantly more anchorage points between the wall section and edge channels.

Compare that with the average garden shed and you’ll see why! With SNAP-TiTE every corrugation on both sides of all wall sections feature a punched lug which locks into the patented edge channel to maximise strength.

ASSEMBLES FASTER

Naturally, the benefit that the SNAP-TiTE system delivers by dramatically reducing the number of fasteners, translates to enormous savings in the time it takes to assemble a typical garden shed. With other brands, a whole weekend can be spent completing the installation.

Compare that with the innovative SNAP-TiTE system, which enables the average home handyperson to complete the task in only a couple of hours!

ASSURES A PROFESSIONAL FINISH

The revolutionary SNAP-TiTE system not only makes assembly faster and easier, it also helps deliver a professional finish. That’s because the snap-fit design of the wall and channel sections takes out the guesswork. With typical garden sheds these components must be aligned, drilled and fixed together with unsightly screws, rivets, or bolts.

Compare that to the SNAP-TiTE system, which aligns and snaps components together perfectly, without the need for drilling and fitting rows of fasteners!
